The High Court has granted Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba temporary relief after halting a disciplinary case against her scheduled for Friday, May 16, by the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

In a judgment issued by Justice Lawrence Mugambi, the court issued a conservatory order temporarily halting the disciplinary proceedings until the case is heard and determined. "That pending hearing and determination of this application, a conservatory order is hereby issued suspending disciplinary proceedings by the Respondent against the Petitioner founded on the allegations contained in a letter to the Petitioner by the UDA," the ruling read in part.

Orwoba was set to be grilled by the party after her loyalty was questioned by a section of the leadership following her attendance at the homecoming tour of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.
