Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has allegedly been arrested.
As per the MP, he was ambushed by individuals he claims were officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at the Isiolo-Nanyuki road after addressing a rally in Isiolo.
While narrating details of the ambush, Salasya said that the officers opened fire at his convoy, adding that they were masked men with AK-47 rifles. Salasya revealed that the alleged officers proceeded to disarm his bodyguards, confiscating their weapons, even as he initially managed to flee. "I have just been attacked by unknown individuals claiming to be DCI officers.
These people, heavily armed and moving with force, ambushed my convoy, disarmed my security team, confiscated their firearms, and pursued my vehicle.
