A son of the late Kasipul MP Charles Ong'ondo Were has announced he will be seeking to succeed his father.

Boyd Were, through a statement on Friday, May 16, said he plans to contest for the seat so he can continue the work his father was doing in the area before he was brutally shot. "Dear Kasipul Constituents, I humbly step forward to continue the development journey my father began.

His vision for a better Kasipul remains alive in me, and I am committed to seeing every project he initiated completed," Boyd said. "With your full support, we will walk this journey together, steadfast and united, until the dream is fully realised," he added.
