Members of the Kisii County Assembly have approved two nominees to fill the positions of the Chairperson and Secretary to the County Public Service Board.
The Assembly's Select Committee on Appointments adopted the report on the vetting of Haron Onguso and Alfred Nyagwoka for the positions of Chairperson and Secretary, respectively.
Mr Nyagwoka, who hails from Magenche Ward in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency, had been serving the position in an acting capacity.
Speaking to the press outside the Assembly's premises in Kisii town after the session, the Majority Leader Henry Moracha commended the House for expediting the approvals, saying that the exercise was conducted in a transparent way and in the best interest of the people. "We have told the Board to ensure that we do not hear complaints from any citizen that he or she is being asked to pay money so that they can be offered a job," Moracha added.
