Makueni County Director of Culture, Music and Arts Mr.
Mutua Mulonzya has called upon the residents of Makueni not to abandon their culture saying it promotes social cohesion among themselves.
Speaking at Green Park in Wote Town, Mulonzya further said that through sharing cultural and musical experiences in festivals and communal dances, it also fosters unity besides strengthening their bond. "We should not abandon our culture because it fosters unity, cooperation and collective memory of our traditions," said Mulonzya during World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development Celebrations.
During the event, the Director encouraged Artists in the county to take advantage of the social platforms to market their music in an effort to generate an income to uplift their lives.
