The Cabinet Secretary(CS) for Roads and Transport, Davis Chirchir has called on the public to embrace the broad-based government to foster economic development and national stability.
He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration and encouraged the public to support the government and enjoy the benefits that come with it, adding, "Let us work together and support each other to ensure economic development in the country." The CS who spoke at Kabunde Airstrip in Homa Bay County during an inspection tour of flagship projects was accompanied by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Roads Eng.
Joseph Mbugua, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo, the County security team and other officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).
Chirchir confirmed that preparations for the upcoming Madaraka Day celebrations scheduled for June 1 are progressing as planned and at the same time assured that the ongoing road works including the 500-metre stretch of the main road are progressing well. "The remaining 500 metres of road will be completed at a later date.
