Police in Nairobi have arrested four members of a well-organised and armed gang suspected of carrying out robbery with violence within the capital, and other parts of the country.

The intelligence-led operation led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle with a fully loaded magazine and two pistols, in addition to several rounds of ammunition.

Officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) identified three Ugandand and a Kenyan national as part of the syndicate.  A forensic analysis, followed by a profiling of each suspect, tied them to various scenes of crimes that are under investigation prompting a multi-agency team to pursue them.

Upon arrest the four suspects led detectives to their hideouts, mostly rented houses, in Saika, Dandora, Huruma, and Pumwani within Nairobi.
