Defiant Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has vowed to continue supporting former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i despite criticisms and threats from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
While condemning the expulsion of nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba from the UDA party, Wamuchomba said that she will support Matiang'i, her long-time friend and classmate. The legislator said she was ready and willing to be expelled from the UDA party for her support for Matiang'i. "I am supporting Matiang'i as a personal friend, and I am ready to suffer and be expelled from UDA," said Wamuchomba. "President William Ruto should be the first to be expelled from the UDA party for associating with Raila, who has repeatedly denied him despite accompanying him on international trips and forming a broad-based government with him," she said.
She said that Orwoba has been instrumental in championing the girls' rights to access free sanitary towels, a fact that the Ruto government has failed to achieve. "Let Gloria be, and we stand with her, and what the UDA party is doing is petty, and we condemn it.
Stop harassing Orwoba.
