A section of clergy and church elders in Moiben constituency have condemned the brutal killing of the servant of God in the volatile Kerio Valley last week.

The church leaders, led by Reverend Luka Sang of Africa Inland Church Chepkanga Fellowship, said that it was immoral for a sane human being to eliminate a man of God spreading and teaching the word in the insecure region that has not enjoyed peace for long.

Speaking after conducting Sunday service, Rev Sang urged the government to move with speed and apprehend the culprits responsible for the chilling killing of Father Allois Cheruiyot Bett of St Matthias Catholic Church, Tot Parish. "Why should a man of God be shot to death and what crime has he committed to warrant such a brutal attack?" he said.

The clergy, while expressing disappointment, asked security agencies to flush out the criminals from their hideouts and restore the much-needed peace across the expansive agriculturally rich Kerio Valley.
