Two men will each serve 28 years in jail after a Kilifi Court found them guilty of defilement.
In a statement on Tuesday, May 27, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) said the men, aged 21 and 19, defiled the 16-year-old girl on the night of February 9, 2024, at Mwambetsungu village in Kilifi. "The court heard that the victim had gone out to collect her shoes at 10pm when she was accosted by the two, who were her neighbours," ODPP stated.
According to the ODPP, even though the 19-year-old did not participate in the act, he could either stop what was happening or walk away.

"Having considered the Prosecution's case and defence, the court is satisfied that the prosecution has proved the main charge of gang defilement beyond doubt.
