The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has raised alarms over what it describes as a growing pattern of harassment of lawyers by the National Police Service (NPS).
The body expressed deep concern that police officers are intimidating lawyers as a way to pressure their clients.
LSK President Faith Odhiambo, in a strong statement on Wednesday, revealed that some lawyers have been subjected to intimidation tactics, which she views as part of a wider effort to undermine legal representation and justice.
Odhiambo warned the police against actions that risk turning Kenya into a dictatorial state where human rights and freedoms are disregarded.
