The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is set to begin the vetting of all persons with disabilities to determine those who will be given tax exemptions starting June 9.
KRA is working with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to ensure those who qualify get the relief from the burden of taxes.
Tax exemption vetting is a process where applicants, especially people living with disabilities, undergo an assessment to determine if they qualify for tax relief. "NCPWD in collaboration with the KRA and the MoH, will be carrying out tax exemption vetting exercises in the following counties on the dates and venues as tabulated below, commencing 9th June 2025," the statement read in part.
