What began as a simple passion for agriculture and teaching his students modern farming practices turned into a moment of pride for Kenyan teacher Dominic Orina who was elated on Sunday after learning he had been shortlisted for the prestigious Global Teacher Award.
The Global Teacher Award is an international recognition that celebrates exceptional educators who have made significant contributions to the teaching profession and positively impacted their communities.
Orina will now be facing other shortlisted candidates from across the globe to battle for the $1m (Ksh129 million) cash prize.
