Wajir South Member of Parliament Mohamed Adow has commissioned a new police station in Biyamadoow, making it the eighth such facility opened in the constituency in under three years.

Speaking during the official opening ceremony, Adow underscored the importance of improving security infrastructure in the region, particularly along the expansive and porous border that the constituency shares with Somalia. "This is the eighth police station we have established within two and a half years.

Our goal is to enhance security in these border areas, which have long been exposed to threats due to their proximity to insecure regions," Adow said.

The legislator emphasised the need to support security personnel by providing modern housing and adequate social amenities, noting that officers currently operate under challenging conditions. "It is our responsibility to support our security personnel by giving them decent housing.
