A young civic activist has sparked public outcry after accusing Kenya Kwanza leaders and Parliament of enabling corruption through the 2025 Finance Bill.

Sophie Mugure, speaking during a recent forum dubbed the people's court, delivered a blunt critique of the government's spending priorities and oversight failures, drawing wide attention online. "Legislators cannot oversight this government because they themselves are not a good example.

In fact, they enable budgeted corruption in the Finance Bill so that they can benefit themselves," said Mugure, as the crowd cheered.

Mugure cited the approval of KSh600 million to the Kenya Revenue Authority for system upgrades meant to access private M-Pesa and bank transactions, claiming it passed without proper public consultation. "Tell me why, sir, you MPs have already passed 600 million to the KRA...
