A section of leaders from Various parts of the country have urged Kenyans to embrace peace, unity and cohesion in a bid to spur the country's economic growth.

The leaders also lashed at those allegedly using the death of Albert Ojwang from Homabay County, who allegedly died in the hands of police officers for their political mileage, saying the law should take its due course.

Speaking at Nyanturago grounds in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency, Kisii County, during a fundraising for various self-help groups in the area, the leaders said the public needed to be united to deter events similar to the 2007/2008 post-election violence.

Likoni MP Mishi Mboko from Mombasa County noted that violence was the worst that could happen to Kenya, adding that Kenyans were not ready for a repeat.
