Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo has been handed some reprieve after a High Court issued a conservatory order halting a planned impeachment by Members of the County Assembly.
In a crucial ruling, Justice Heston Nyaga stated that an affidavit filed by the governor's team raised substantive issues that warranted judicial intervention.
While certifying the application as urgent, the judge further directed that it should be served to all respondents by close of business on Tuesday, June 17. "Pending the hearing and determination of this application inter partes, a conservatory order is hereby issued restraining the respondents or their agents from admitting, processing, debating, or considering the Notice of Motion dated June 10, 2025, regarding the proposed impeachment of the Governor of Isiolo County," Justice Nyaga ruled.
