The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) has issued a stern warning to Kenyans after uncovering a fraud syndicate involving individuals falsely claiming to be the company's Managing Director and CEO.
In an official statement, KETRACO identified the phone numbers, landlines, and email addresses that the scammers have been using to impersonate the company's top executive leadership and defraud tenderers and job seekers.
The company has urged the public to exercise extreme caution when dealing with individuals purporting to represent its senior leadership. "We believe this misrepresentation is for malicious purposes.
We strongly advise the public to exercise extreme caution and be vigilant against such fraudulent schemes," KETRACO warned in the statement.
