President William Samoei Ruto's personal aide, Farouk Kibet, has initiated an elaborate programme to empower marginalised women in West Pokot in fulfilment Kenya Kwanza administration pre-election pledges.
In a colourful ceremony at Sigor Centre in Pokot Central Sub-County local women stand to benefit from Sh7m donated by local leaders drawn from the Kenya Kwanza administration.
The event brought together a host of Influential County and national leaders, all united in the push for grass root women empowerment and greater inclusion in governance and development.
The leaders during the event led by Farouk Kibet, included Sigor Member of Parliament, Peter Lochakapong, Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah , West Pokot Governor, Simon Kachapin,West Pokot County Women Representative, Rael Kasiwai, Taiti Member of Parliament, William Kamket, Nandi County Women Representative, Cynthia Muge,Trans Nzoia County Women Representative, Lilian Siyoi, Kibwezi West Member of Parliament, Eckomas Mutuse, Taveta Member of Parliament, John Bwire and former West Pokot Governor, Prof John Lonyangapuo.
