As seen on live TV, the officer was among several others who appeared to be fleeing as protesters hurled stones at them.
With the protesters nearly catching up to her, she tripped and fell to the ground, after which the protesters appeared to jump on her and continue the attack.
Kenyans.co.ke has since confirmed that the police officer was rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital, where she is receiving further treatment.
