The Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, claims that during yesterday's demonstrations, 300 police officers were injured and several police stations were torched.
In a press briefing on Thursday, June 26, Murkomen claimed that 300 police officers and 100 civilians were injured during the demonstrations, which he termed as a plot that aimed at dethroning President William Ruto's administration.
Murkomen said that more than ten people were killed during the protests.
According to the CS, some hired goons infiltrated the protests and deliberately attacked the police together with other critical security infrastructures, such as police stations. A total of five guns were stolen from the Dagoretti Police Post in Kiambu County, while four were burnt at the Gachui Police Post.
