A day after protests rocked parts of Kiambu County, a dedicated group of environmental volunteers dubbed the Green Warriors have stepped in to restore order and cleanliness across affected areas.

Early Friday morning, the Green Warriors were spotted in various towns across Kiambu, including Ruiru, Githurai, and Thika town, removing burnt tyres, stones, and other debris that demonstrators had used to block roads.

Their swift response ensured roads were quickly cleared for motorists and pedestrians, restoring both safety and normalcy.

Led by community based environmental groups and supported by the Kiambu County Government's Department of Environment, the cleanup initiative was not only a show of resilience but also a testament to the power of collective action. "Our mission goes beyond cleaning, we are here to reclaim our environment and promote peaceful, sustainable communities," said Peter Mwangi, one of the coordinators of the Green Warriors team.
