Several suspects believed to have been involved in violent demonstrations and looting across the country have been apprehended as authorities continue with the crackdown following the June 25 protests.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrests in a statement on Sunday, June 29, thanks to a series of coordinated operations across multiple counties.
In Mbeere South, officers attached to the DCI arrested two suspects and recovered a white water tank with a metal casting.
According to the DCI, the tank was among several items that were looted from Kiritiri Market during the height of the protests, which turned violent in several parts of the country.
