Wanjiku Thiga, another ally of the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has been arrested.
Thiga, who serves as the National Youth Leader and member of the National Executive Committee of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), is said to be held at the Ruiru Police Station, according to Kirinyaga County Woman Rep Njeri Maina.
Thiga was arrested on Tuesday, July 1, at the Kamakis area in Ruiru, with news of her apprehension being spread by online users on X, formerly Twitter.
A post on Thiga's official X social media handle also shared a message at around 1:22pm on Tuesday, confirming her plight by simply stating, "I have been abducted at Kamakis." The Woman Rep was, however, critical of authorities, as she accused them of failing to disclose the potential charges Thiga was being detained for.
