Opposition leaders have called for the immediate resignation of Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, or he faces impeachment over his recent controversial shoot-to-kill order.
Speaking in Githurai after visiting the family of slain hawker Boniface Kariuki, the leaders, including Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, asserted that Murkomen's latest shoot-to-kill order warrants him to either resign immediately or be removed from the Ministry. "Mr Murkomen, the least you can do as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior is to resign immediately.
We fully support the impeachment motion being brought against you, and we urge all opposition Members of Parliament to back it without hesitation," Wamalwa stated.
According to Wamalwa, such remarks and the recent events that have been unfolding in the country lately warrant abuse of office and endangering the lives of citizens.
