In a continued effort towards boosting education, the Mandera County has launched the third phase of the Elimu Kwa Wote Sh460 million bursary programme.
Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif said the programme was set to benefit 34,372 and 5,697 secondary school and university and college students, respectively, with a total allocation.
While highlighting the programme's success, Khalif attributed significant improvements in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education performance over the past two years to the county's subsidised secondary education initiative.
He noted that the bursary programme has driven a remarkable 98% transition rate to secondary schools, a milestone that underscored the county's dedication to ensuring no child is left behind in education. "This programme demonstrates our unwavering commitment to empowering the youth of Mandera through education.
