Hundreds of learners in Isebania, Migori County were left stranded after the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) closed two institutions in the county.

The institutions including Cambridge Universal College failed to meet the regulatory standards required for vocational training institutes.

The students were asked to transfer to compliant institutions and explore avenues to recover financial losses from the school fees they had paid.

Learners who were continuing with their studies were shocked to learn that their institutions were not on the list of registered TVET institutions.
