The Board of Management of the Nairobi Hospital has firmly denied claims of a leadership change, dismissing reports circulated on social and mainstream media a few days ago.

According to the reports, the board chairman of the hospital had been affected, suggesting that Herman Manyora has taken over from the current chair with immediate effect.

Speaking during a governance retreat held in Naivasha, Dr Barcley Onyambu clarified that he remains the duly elected Chairman of the Board of Management of the Kenya Hospital Association (KHA), which operates as the Nairobi Hospital. "I wish to categorically state that no changes have occurred at the helm of the Kenya Hospital Association or Nairobi Hospital and I remain the Chairman of the Board of Management," Dr Onyambu declared.

Moreover, Onyambu emphasised that any transition in leadership at the institution follows due process, which has not taken place to formalise the change in leadership at the Board. "There is no legal or court order requiring us to vacate office and the mechanisms for leadership changes exist, but they have not been triggered," he said.
