The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has issued a notice to passengers planning to head to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Wilson Airport, warning them of potential disruptions to their flights if they do not heed their advisory.

Through a statement released on Saturday, July 5, KAA noted that major roads leading to JKIA and Wilson Airport would be closed from today, 10 pm, till Sunday, July 6, in the mid-afternoon.  Roads affected include the Nairobi Expressway, Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway, Waiyaki Way, and Kenyatta Avenue.

The closure was occasioned by the Nairobi Marathon that is scheduled for Sunday, July 6.

In the notice, KAA strongly advised passengers to plan their travel early to avoid delays and ensure timely arrival for their flights.  A graphic showing roads to be closed for the 2025 Nairobi City Marathon Photo Nairobi City Marathon "Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) wishes to inform all passengers and airport users that due to the Nairobi City Marathon scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025, several key roads leading to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Wilson Airport will be closed starting from 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, until mid-afternoon on Sunday, July 6," KAA stated.
