The Kenya Railways Corporation on Wednesday, January 22, announced the resumption of the Nanyuki Train Service. Through a statement, the railway service revealed that the Nanyuki train was back as per the normal schedule after a week-long disruption. "We wish to inform members of the public that the Nanyuki Safari Train has resumed service as per the normal schedule," Kenya Railways stated. "The train will depart from Nairobi Central Station for Nanyuki every Friday at 9:00 am and make its return trip from Nanyuki to Nairobi every Sunday at 9:00 am," the statement further added. ''This is due to a blockage on a section of the line, which is hindering the movement of trains between Nairobi and Nanyuki," it noted.
However, the railway service did not disclose the cause of the blockage or the specific nature of the issue affecting the railway line.
The disruption of the Nanyuki train disappointed Kenyans who had planned to travel over the weekend.
