An Administration Police officer is in custody after residents stormed a police station in Archers Post, Isiolo County, to demand his arrest.

In a statement on Saturday, July 5, the Counter Terrorism Police Unit reported that the officer had been driving a vehicle owned by the AP's Border Patrol Unit when he accidentally hit a woman in the town centre.

The vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, has since been detained at the Archers Post Police Station. "Police officers at Archers Police Station detained a motor vehicle owned by the Administration Police's Border Patrol Unit (BPU) that caused an accident at Archers Post Town," the statement read.
