A group of armed goons have reportedly infiltrated the Kenya Human Rights Commission offices ahead of a press briefing by Kenyan mothers.
In a statement on X, the Women's Collective Kenya claimed that the goons had attacked the offices to disperse the mothers who had prepared to issue the presser at 1.30pm ahead of the Saba Saba day. "Armed goons have attacked offices of the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC), where a press conference was due to be held this afternoon by Kenyan mothers on the eve of Saba Saba," the Women's Collective said.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a source from Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi revealed that the armed goons had taken off with at least two laptops belonging to journalists, leaving those present to hide.
Currently, the fate of the presser hangs in the balance as the facilitators take shelter in nearby restaurants.
