Kenya Police FC are set for a hefty financial windfall after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a major increase in participation fees for its interclub competitions.
Kenya Police, alongside Nairobi United FC, will represent Kenya in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, respectively, and are set to earn at least Ksh12.9 million each just for qualifying.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe made the revelation during a press briefing in Rabat, Morocco, on Saturday, July 5, confirming that the participation fee has been doubled from USD 50,000 last season to USD 100,000 (about Ksh12.9 million in the current exchange rates) in the upcoming campaign.
According to Motsepe, the move is part of CAF's effort to ease the financial strain on teams travelling and competing across the continent.
