Chief Justice, Martha Koome, Tuesday, presided over the swearing-in of Mr.
Abdullah Kassim, as a member of the National Heroes Council alongside newly appointed state officials to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), in a ceremony held at the Supreme Court, Nairobi.
Speaking during the event, CJ Koome commended the appointees for taking up the responsibility of public service and urged them to uphold the rule of law, integrity, and human dignity in the execution of their mandates. "The Oath you have taken is not merely ceremonial, it is a solemn and sacred commitment to serve diligently, act with humility, and uphold the Constitution," said the Chief Justice.
She reminded the Police Commission members of their duty to nurture a rights-based policing culture, while balancing the rights of assembly with the responsibility of maintaining public order.
