Nurses looking to be posted soon for their internship programmes will have to wait a bit longer after Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale announced that the ministry would be withdrawing the list.

Speaking at Citizen TV on Wednesday night, Duale claimed that the whole nursing internship list would be audited after at least 19 names of students who had not completed their studies were found on the list.

The CS revealed that he had met with the National Council of Nurses (NCK) earlier in the day when the discrepancies were spotted, necessitating the bold step.

He further warned that any persons or institutions found liable for including the said names on the list would face the necessary consequences.  Nurses attend to patients in a hospital ward.
