Days after he was linked to an alleged role in the June protests, Philemon Kandie, Director General of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), has resigned.

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura also posted a copy of Kandie's resignation letter, with the government official's tenure coming to an end two years before the expiry of his term. "This letter serves as a formal notification of my resignation from the position of Director General at Kenya Rural Roads Authority, giving a notice of 3 months effective 11th July 2025, with my last day of employment being 10th October 2025.
