Kericho County is embarking on a major transformation agenda for Litein town, with plans to inject over Sh 2.3 billion into critical infrastructure aimed at unlocking its potential as a commercial hub.

The strategic investment comes as private sector players such as Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) expand operations in the region, signalling renewed confidence in Litein's economic future.

Speaking during the official opening of MRM's 26th showroom, Kericho County CEC for Trade, Industrialisation, Innovation, Wildlife, and Tourism John Cheruiyot said the multi-billion-shilling investment, funded through the Office of the Governor, is part of a deliberate push to transform Litein into an investment-ready town with reliable public utilities. "We are now focusing on making Litein a modern, investment-ready town.

Where physical structures must be built, we will fast-track approvals and decentralise essential services such as water and permitting.
