Three Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers tragically lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries after their vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Tuesday.
According to security and operational reports, the officers from Kenya's security forces were on a routine patrol along the Sakuri-Kiunga Main Supply Route (MSR) when they encountered the IED.
KDF's Strategic Communications team confirmed the incident, stating that seven other officers were injured during the attack.
KDF further noted that a hot pursuit operation had been launched to apprehend the perpetrators, affirming that the forces remain alert and undeterred in their mission to safeguard the country's borders.
