Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has nominated 14 persons to be Chief Officers in his county government, signalling an incoming change to senior county leadership.
Through a notice released on Wednesday, July 16, Barasa announced the nominated persons, who were shortlisted after a competitive recruitment drive and interviews.
The nominations are in critical areas of the county government, such as economic planning, ICT, financial management, public health, roads and energy, lands, survey and physical planning as well as county administration. "Following competitive recruitment and interviews of shortlisted candidates by the County Public Service Board and according to section 45(1) of the County Governments Act 2012, 1 hereby nominate the following officers for appointment as Chief Officers subject to approval by the County Assembly," read the notice by the Governor.
