It was all smiles for members of a fishermen's Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (Sacco) in Homa Bay County after they received a grant of Sh 5 million from President William Ruto.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga who presented the money on Wednesday noted that President Ruto promised the fishermen the support during his tour of the county ahead of 'Madaraka Day' celebrations held in the county.
She said the money was expected to boost the fishermen's access to affordable credit.
The governor presented the money Wednesday on behalf of President Ruto at Governor's Park in Homa Bay Town. "This money is expected to empower fishermen so that they can grow their trade," Wanga said.
