A huge swarm of small black and red insects were recently seen in a town called Kabarnet, in western Kenya.
Debate has been been raging in the local media about what to call the insects: Nairobi fly, Kenya fly, narrow bee fly?
There is no official name but "Nairobi fly" seems to be the most commonly used.
Other parts of the world have their own local names.
