Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has urged the national government to pardon youth who participated in the nationwide protests.
The governor urged the government to secure release of youth held in various police cells and provide bail for those facing charges in court.
Governor Barasa also urged counties to waive hospital bills for youth who are receiving medication in various hospitals due to injuries sustained while participating in protests. "I want also to request the national government and the security agencies, those who are holding our youth, please release them.
The government should also waive hospital bills for those who have been injured so that the youth can engage the national officials in dialogue.
