The University of Nairobi (UoN) has warned incoming first-year students not to source admission details from unverified social media accounts claiming to belong to the university.

On Monday, July 21, the university flagged as fake a social media post from an unverified account claiming that both government- and self-sponsored students could access their admission letters via the university's student portal.

The fake letter had claimed that the incoming students could simply use their KCSE index numbers to download the letter.

To ensure that students receive legitimate information on the university's admission, UoN, in a statement on Monday, July 21, said that learners should ensure that they visit its official Facebook page, the verified University's X (Twitter) page, or via SMS.
