Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has underscored the importance of electricity connection for economic development of the country.
Speaking after commissioning Rural Electrification Project in Marani and Sensi wards in Kitutu Chache North constituency, Kisii County, Wandayi said electricity would open up the rural villages of Chimo and Irianyi for economic growth and education advancement in the area.
The CS expressed optimism that the area, which previously had minimal connectivity, will never again lag in development and applauded area Member of Parliament Japheth Nyakundi for raising the need at the national level.
Wandayi pledged to do his work well, helping the president deliver by working with leaders at all levels.
