A potential crisis was averted in Trans Nzoia County after police recovered a G3 rifle loaded with 18 rounds of ammunition from a local workplace. The breakthrough came following an employer's alert, leading to the intervention by law enforcement.
The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the recovery on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after officers from Maili Saba Police Station acted on the report from the concerned employer on Friday.
According to the NPS, the employer had raised suspicions that one of their employees was secretly possessing an illegal firearm within the premises. Police, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Maili Saba, responded to the alert and initiated a search of the workplace premises in Trans Nzoia.
