Police in Busia County have launched investigations into the killing of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly beaten to death by her mother for coming home drunk on Christmas day.
The incident happened in Limara village in Angorom ward, Teso South.
Varshti Hainyi, a Form Two student at Rang'ala Girls' School, died while she was being rushed to hospital.
Teso South OCPD Francis Gachoki said the report indicates that the mother is behind the murder of her daughter following the beating. "The report we have so far indicates that the mother is behind the tragic death of her daughter, following a severe beating.
