Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday chaired a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Jubilee Party headquarters in Nairobi, in what marked a major step in the party's internal reorganisation following months of legal and political wrangles.

This was the first NEC meeting convened since the conclusion of a series of court cases that had threatened to derail the party's leadership and operations.

Uhuru, however, attended the session virtually.

The developments come as the party begins intensifying its renewed effort by the former ruling party to reassert itself in Kenya's political landscape.
