A Kenyan delegation has met with Haiti's new transitional presidential council head, Laurent Saint-Cyr, to review the progress of the UN-backed Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission.  Led by Deputy National Security Adviser Joseph Boinnet and Kenya's Consul General to Haiti, Noor Gabow, the team met with Saint-Cyr in Port-au-Prince.

He expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing operations against criminal gangs being carried out by the mission.

The visit, which served as a crucial review mission, aimed to assess the performance of the 800 Kenyan police officers who are spearheading the international effort to restore order in the Caribbean nation.  The Kenyan deployment is the first component of a larger mission designed to support the Haitian National Police in stabilising the country and protecting critical infrastructure from armed groups.
