The Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, has finally accepted the resignation of Popular Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh from the National Police Service.

Samidoh, who had juggled between the service and being a musician, had served for 12 years until recently, when he started getting in trouble with his employers, even facing desertion charges.

In his resignation, Samidoh cited personal reasons, specifically, his desire to focus on one career, his music.

Confirming the resignation, Kanja stated, "He is free to pursue whatever he wishes." His resignation took effect on July 20.
