The MOJA Expressway Company, which operates the Nairobi Expressway, has clarified that a press statement circulating online regarding a temporary closure of the CBD access is fake.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the company official confirmed that the statement is not from their official communication channels and that no such closure has occurred.

She added that the Nairobi Expressway is operating as normal, and urged Kenyans to verify information from the company's official page The fake statement, which is dated today, August 21, 2025, claimed that sections of the expressway were temporarily closed due to an unplanned procession by supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.  More to follow...
